The 14th Animanie Festival will be held from November 14th to November 17th, 2019, in Moving Station, Pilsen.
This year again, a competition was announced, divided into three age categories: MINI (under 13 years), MIDI (14-18 years) and MAXI (19-26 years).
This year for the first time, the traditionally most attended category MINI is newly divided into Czech and Slovak competition and foreign competition. We try to comply with wishes of home artists who send their works to us every year, and we want them to get enough space within the festival.
As every year, ten Animánička Awards will be given across all categories. Each award will be an original work of one of the students of FDULS, UWB. Above that, two special awards will be given – the Student Jury Award and the Audience Award.
Within the competition, we will offer 16 projection series throughout the festival. The admission to the competition program is free.
Animanie Festival is trying to make the filmmakers keep moving further and further in their work. Therefore, besides the number of animation workshops, we also offer the opportunity to meet and talk with the jury in form of short informal discussions, which will be held every day from 05:30 p.m. in the Animanie Atelier. Individual films screened that day will be discussed here.
Awarding the competition films will be held by the jury that consists of:
- Lucie Sunková (CZ) – animator, director, artist
- Luděk Horký (CZ) – director, dramaturge and educator, leader of the Center for Children’s Production Dramaturgy in Česká televize
- Hrvoje Selec (HR) – lecturer and director of VaFi and RaFi Festival in Croatia
The Award Ceremony will take place on Sunday 17th November 2019, starting at 04:00 p.m., in Moving Station’s Great Hall (VS).
